Gulland Padfield shortlisted by AMCF in the United States for excellence and value in its consulting work with global banking clients on their Client Strategy and Market Entry.

Gulland Padfield, the specialist management consulting firm to the Banking and Services sectors has been shortlisted for its project work in global banking by the Association of Management Consulting Firms 2015 Awards.

Gulland Padfield’s work is acknowledged in two Awards categories for projects it delivered to clients relating to ‘Client & Customer Engagement Strategy’ and ‘Developing Market Strategy’. Ernst & Young, KPMG, PwC and FTI Consulting were shortlisted in the same categories as Gulland Padfield.

The AMCF (Association of Management Consulting Firms) is the premier body for management consulting firms both globally and in the United States. Its annual awards are independently judged with the identity of the consulting firm and its clients remaining un-named throughout the assessment process. The Awards recognise leadership, excellence and value among the leading international consulting firms in the global management consulting profession.

‘To be recognised for our work internationally in these categories is a very rewarding moment for our teams in the US, Asia, Latin America and Europe and for all our clients,’ said James Edsberg, Senior Partner of Gulland Padfield. ‘Everyone at Gulland Padfield has worked hard to pioneer new ideas in our specialist area of Client Strategy and to challenge constructively old ways of thinking about Client and Customer Strategy in the Banking and Services industries. Our work with some of the leading Commercial and Business Banks and Private Banks has helped strengthen our clients’ profitability and performance through a laser-like focus on aligning their Operations and People to their Clients and Customers. We continue to demonstrate the major improvements that flow when a banking institution focuses on its Client Strategy and how that effort translates into higher revenues, stronger margins and more loyal clients.’

Gulland Padfield is shortlisted for its project work with Silicon Valley Bank, a leading global bank ranked by Forbes magazine as one of America’s Best Banks.

Best Client & Customer Engagement Projects
The award in this category is given to a management consultancy which has worked with an institution, ‘...to improve its overall client experience, including its client and customer strategy, client service approach, channel management, customer relationship management, sales effectiveness, marketing strategy, product development or category/product management.’

Best Project in a Developing Market
This award category recognises ‘... the successful delivery of a project in a developing market by a US and/or global consulting team... supporting client activity and expansion, improving existing client businesses and demonstrating the overcoming of cultural and geographic barriers.’
‘Entering a new market for any bank is a major challenge. When that market is also a dynamic and developing economy, there’s an added dimension of complexity that needs to be considered,’ said Gurpreet Garcha, Partner in Gulland Padfield’s Banking team and who led the Market Entry project for a Silicon Valley Bank in China. ‘Our starting point on projects like these is to begin, as we always do, with a deep analysis of the end-customer and building all other aspects of the Client Strategy and Business Strategy on that solid foundation. I am delighted that our team’s work in Asia and in other developing countries in Asia and Latin America is recognised. Above all, I would like to thank and congratulate the teams at Silicon Valley Bank who deserve many congratulations for growing such a successful offering in the US, UK and China.’

In a year that marked record-high submissions for the awards, the President & COO of AMCF, Sally Caputo said, ‘We would like to congratulate Gulland Padfield and all the finalists. As the global association for management consulting, the AMCF is uniquely positioned to recognize and honor the achievements of consulting teams and their commitment to their clients. These firms truly reflect excellence and value in Consulting.’
